Frequently Asked Questions ...

I started this project as a way of doing something
meaningful with my precious wedding dress that would be a direct
benefit to others - namely the parents who are suffering the loss of
a newborn child where I work.

This project was intended to be a hobby for me. I am a wife, the mother
of three teenagers and I have a full time job
in the NICU of a local hospital. I have no employees and work
from my home in my spare time.

1.

I would like to donate my wedding dress to your project, how do I do that?

Thank you!! If you will contact me at the e-mail link above I will be delighted to send you instructions for donating your precious wedding dress to my project.

2.

How can I donate something other than a wedding dress?

I'm in constant need of supplies however they are very specific to my sewing machines and the gowns I'm currently working on. JoAnn Fabrics gift cards would be absolutely wonderful and greatly appreciated. Please contact me via the e-mail link above and thank you very much!

3.

Will you send me a tax receipt for my donation?

As I am not a 501(c)3 charity your donations are not tax deductible.
4.

Can I buy some of your gowns for my charity?

I'm sorry, but I do not sell my gowns for use by other charities or individuals. I would be happy to talk with you about setting up your own "not for profit" sewing circle to create these Angel Gowns locally however. Please contact me via the e-mail link above.

5.

If I send you materials will you make some of these for me to distribute in my community?

If you have a specific Maternity or NICU unit you would like to receive a set of gowns please contact me. I am working only with wedding dresses donated by women across the United States and can not guarantee that Angel Gowns made from a specific dress will end up going to a specific place. I would also be happy to talk with you about setting up your own "not for profit" sewing circle to create Angel Gowns that you may distribute to the place of your choice. Please contact me via the e-mail link above.

6.

We know of parents that just lost their child, will you please send me a gown for them?

I am sorry but I'm unable to respond to special requests at this time.
7.

Will you send me a list of the gowns you have in stock?

As I'm just one person working in my spare time, I do not have stock available. My heart is in helping my hospital and local community. I would be happy to talk with you about setting up your own "not for profit" sewing circle to create these Angel Gowns locally however. Please contact me via the e-mail link above.

8.

I'd like to make some of these as gifts for my community, can you help me?

I'd be very glad to share the patterns that I have with you and any tips or tricks that might make the process easier for you. I'm not a marketing expert or fund raiser but can guide you through the process that I use. My scope is to only help "not for profit" individuals or groups. Please contact me via the e-mail link above.

9.

Will you accept dresses other than wedding dresses?

It's a conditional thing! The dress needs to be appropriate to the circumstances. Soft or muted colors may work; however white, cream or beige are best. Dresses with trim like wedding dresses work well as I can use the trim by moving it to different places as I create the gowns. Please contact me via the e-mail link above.

10.

My group would like to begin making Angel Gowns for our local hospital, can you help us?

I would be happy to provide you with patterns, tips and ideas. I only ask that you are a "not for profit" group and that you send me photos of your work, people, or products and in return I will create a special place on my web site for you to display what your group creates! That's the deal! Please contact me via the e-mail link above.

11.

Can I sell your Angel Gowns on my web site?

My gowns are not for sale. They are gifts for grieving parents. I supply sets of gowns to maternity units and NICU's and other infant hospice groups by request. I do this in my free time and can not commit to any deadlines. The aid I give others in setting up their own sewing circles is only for "not for profit" groups.

12.

Can you embroider a child's name on a gown for me?

I am sorry but I'm unable to respond to special requests at this time.
